An initiation-protocol performance. For every woman!
Do you want all eyes on you? Do you want all mouths to go Woooo! every time they think of you? Are you tired of people talking to you with dusty words? Wooomanhood 101 is for you! For the modern woman, now in Nicosia—only two chances to learn easily, quickly, simply everything you need to know in order to live a full and happy life. Bring a friend, bring your daughter, bring your mother, bring your friend who doesn’t know how to look for the right woman. You asked for it—we are here for you! Finally!
Wooomanhood 101 is a multimedia dance-theatre performance about intergenerational grooming and conditioning passed from woman to woman. Based on true events and the contemporary rhetoric of social media, it walks the glittering path carved by invisible agreements of personal care in relation to a woman’s social standing and roles—commands and “musts” that are carried forward, generation after generation. Repeated a thousand times and again, normalized to almost funny extremes, if only it weren’t so traumatic for society at large.
The performance becomes a place of confrontation, but also of liberation: a space where the body speaks its own voice again. Or perhaps a poetic reconstruction of the spaces where those truths are erased and fear takes root with dangerously branching tendrils. The women of Wooomanhood 101—four generations—are very happy, and they want to share their journeys with the world.
The work is an evolution of the performative tutorial Introduction to Womanhood 101, previously presented by interdisciplinary artist Anthi Kettirou. The group Art|Haus, consisting of distinguished artists from Cyprus and abroad in the fields of AI choreography, contemporary dramaturgy and music, contemporary dance and dance-theatre, unfold with very dark humor the dossier of female experience—where intergenerational grooming and conditioning pass silently from woman to woman; a legacy that seeks to protect, but also clearly limits, and always inscribes itself on body and voice.
And algorithms, like new grandmothers, influencers like digital aunts, rewrite the same manual again—shinier, more flawless, more binding. Towards the certainty of happiness.

Areti Chourdaki is a Cypriot creator and performer based in Brussels. In 2020, she graduated from CNDC in France, and in 2021, she created E|C|H|G|O, a three-hour choreographic situation presented at the 18th Summer Dance Festival by Nea Kinisi. That same year, Areti joined the master's program Danse et Pratiques Chorégraphiques at Charleroi Danse, L’INSAS, and La Cambre in Brussels, where she explores The body as an archive of systematic processes.
Her choreographic work revolves around exploring the limits of the human body, particularly endurance. She approaches repetition as a process that is both physical and perceptual, a play with limits: those of her body—its boredom and exhaustion—as well as those of the gaze and attention, which gradually fade and grow weary.
Knitting is a central medium in her practice: a mode of creation in which repetition becomes structural. In her performances, her handmade creations serve as costumes and scenographic tools, extending the dialogue between body and material.
in 2023 she began a research project named Le chemin se fait en marchant with which she joined the G.incubator 23-24 at Garage29, supported by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles - Dance Department and Charleroi Danse (research grant).
